Our governors

Robin is a chartered accountant, qualifying with KPMG, with over 40 years of private equity, banking and broader financial experience.

He has recently finished a 10 year term as Chair of Malvern College, an independent school based in Worcestershire, and has been Chair and non-executive director of a number of quoted and unquoted companies in the fund management, media and leisure sectors.

Robin lives locally and all three of his children were pupils at the School.

Now retired, Tom qualified as a chartered accountant before a career in the City of London advising listed companies in the property, financial services and asset management sectors.

Before joining the board of governors in 2022, Tom held a similar position at Radley College for 12 years. He is married with three daughters, who were all educated at the school.

After completing a law degree, James served for 8 years in the Army before moving into executive recruitment. He has worked with clients at Board level for 30 years.

Sonja has been a School Counsellor for two decades, having qualified as a Family Therapist and worked in the private sector within mental health hospitals.

A brand consultant with over 30 years’ experience working across multiple sectors including education. Previously a Governor at another school, Nikki is also a past parent.

Phil is Deputy Head (Academic) of a girls’ independent HMC 11–18 day school in central London and a Team Inspector for the Independent Schools Inspectorate. He has held senior leadership roles as Head of Senior School, Deputy Head (Academic) and Head of Sixth Form.

He has also been Head of Educational Partnerships and Projects for a group of independent girls’ day schools. Phil spent a year as a Senior School Consultant at Dulwich Cranbrook to assist with the transition to being a Senior School.

Now a transformational coach to corporates and individuals, Matt started in education and social care before switching careers. He worked in the banking industry for 24 years and is also a past parent.

Diana Murdoch has had a career across many aspects of education, as a teacher in independent, maintained and special schools, and in research and teaching in the School of Education at the University of Edinburgh. Her current work is an advisory and research role with educational policy makers in European countries. Diana has a PhD in Inclusive Education, a Diploma in Education and an MA in French and History. She has close familial links to the school, attended Little Stream as a child, and is a parent of both a former pupil and gap year student.

Dale Spencer has over 20 years’ experience in the independent school sector working with EYFS, Key Stage 1,2 and 3. He has held a wide range of senior and specialist roles, including Deputy Head, DSL, Head of Boarding and Director of Sport.
